Butter slices?
They have cheese slices. But I eat bread-and-butter in the morning. And I want to eat it almost everyday. And it's so hard to scrape and spread the butter when I take it out from the fridge. Why can't they just have butter slices too? Imagine your warm toast that just popped out from the toaster with a crisp butter slice sandwiched between them. And now think about digging your teeth deep into it... as opposed to still being stuck scraping butter and somehow getting it to spread uniformly on that toast. Wouldn't you love to have butter slices? I wonder why we don't have them. Or am I missing something?

In India the 500gm pack used to have large area, so you only need to cut one time, to get a large slice of butter for one toast. I used to like it.
That's still lame. Isn't it surprising how everybody wants butter slices yet they don't exist ready-made?
technically speaking it's the issue of effort vs returns.
butter slices would join together unlike cheese slices so you need some separating foil in between. even if you put some foils in between, the slices will still stick to the foils and butter being way more brittle than cheese will chip off when trying to separate from the foil instead of coming out as a single slice. If you try to do this at a higher temperature, it would be too soft and more messy instead of being an elegant solution.
moreover refrigeration is just a way of preserving butter for longer instead of it being intended to be used cold.
So a larger stick of butter makes sense as it's easier to make and can be easily used at room temperatures.
